Battle of Gandamak
1842 – January 13, 1842 · Jalalabad–Kabul Road
The British army left Kabul in winter under a safe-conduct promise, with thousands of soldiers and camp followers. Afghan fighters attacked the column in the mountain passes and destroyed it, with a last stand at Gandamak.
