Korean Armistice Agreement
The armistice was signed on 27 July 1953 by the United Nations Command, North Korea, and China, ending hostilities in the Korean War. It took effect the same day and established the Korean Demilitarized Zone near the 38th parallel. No final peace treaty has ever been signed, so North and South Korea remain technically at war.
