Little Rock Nine

Nine African American students who enrolled at Little Rock Central High School, Arkansas, in 1957 following the Brown v. Board of Education desegregation ruling. Governor Orval Faubus used the National Guard to block them; President Dwight D. Eisenhower intervened with federal troops, and their attendance became a landmark of the U.S. civil rights movement.
