Russian involvement in the Persian Constitutional Revolution
1908 – November 23, 1911
Russia backed Shah Mohammad Ali against the Iranian parliament, and Russian-led Cossacks shelled the Majlis in 1908. In 1911 a Russian ultimatum and invasion forced the dismissal of Morgan Shuster and closed parliament.
