Archibald Cox

Archibald Cox Jr. (1912–2004) was an American legal scholar who served as U.S. Solicitor General under President John F. Kennedy and as the special prosecutor during the Watergate scandal. He was a pioneering expert on labor law and an authority on constitutional law. He was dismissed by President Nixon in the 1973 Saturday Night Massacre; the lead extract identifies him as a leading legal scholar of the 20th century.
