The federal judiciary of the United States is one of the three branches of the U.S. federal government, organized under the U.S. Constitution and federal laws. It does not include any state courts, which are completely independent from the federal government. It consists primarily of the U.S. Supreme Court and the lower federal courts, which interpret federal law and the Constitution.
