Bloody Sunday
On 22 January 1905, soldiers of the Imperial Guard fired on workers led by Father Georgy Gapon as they marched to the Winter Palace to present a petition to Tsar Nicholas II. The massacre in St. Petersburg sparked the Russian Revolution of 1905.
