Camp David Accords

Pair of political agreements signed on 17 September 1978 by Egypt's Anwar Sadat and Israel's Menachem Begin after negotiations at Camp David. The second led directly to the 1979 Egypt-Israel peace treaty; the two leaders shared the 1978 Nobel Peace Prize. The first, covering the Palestinian territories without Palestinian participation, was condemned by the UN and sparked Arab-world discontent.
