Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel

Declaration proclaiming the State of Israel on 14 May 1948 at the Tel Aviv Museum by David Ben-Gurion on behalf of the Va'ad Leumi, at the end of the British Mandate. Israelis celebrate it as Independence Day; Palestinians commemorate the day as the start of the Nakba, the mass displacement that followed.
