Invasion of Yugoslavia
Germany led an Axis invasion of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia beginning 6 April 1941, ordered by Hitler's Fuhrer Directive No. 25 after a 27 March coup overthrew Yugoslavia's pro-Axis government. The Luftwaffe bombed Belgrade while German, Italian, and Hungarian forces attacked from several directions. Yugoslavia capitulated within days, and the country was partitioned among the Axis powers.
