Revolutions of 1848 in the Austrian Empire

Revolutions spread across the Austrian Empire, with demands for constitutions, liberal rights and national self-rule in Vienna, Hungary, Bohemia and northern Italy. Chancellor Metternich fell, but imperial forces restored control by 1849.
