Daniel Webster

Daniel Webster (1782–1852) was an American lawyer, statesman, and diplomat who served as the 14th and 19th U.S. secretary of state under presidents William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, and Millard Fillmore. He represented New Hampshire and Massachusetts in Congress and was one of the Great Triumvirate alongside Henry Clay and John C. Calhoun. He argued over 200 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.
