Mohamed Morsi

Mohamed Morsi (1951-2019) was an Egyptian politician, engineer, and professor who served as the fifth president of Egypt from 2012 to 2013, when General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi removed him from office after protests in June. Affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, he led the Freedom and Justice Party from 2011 to 2012 and won the 2012 presidential election following the 2011 Egyptian Revolution. He studied metallurgical engineering at Cairo University and materials science at the University of Southern California, and taught at Zagazig University.
