Huizhou Uprising

The Huizhou Uprising was an armed revolt launched on 8 October 1900 in Huizhou, Guangdong, on the orders of Sun Yat-sen, with the revolutionary army led by Zheng Shiliang. Around 20,000 men fought for about half a month before the force was ordered to disperse after Japanese authorities barred Sun from operating out of Taiwan. The uprising failed; it was Sun Yat-sen's second insurrection against the Qing dynasty.
