Oslo I Accord

First face-to-face agreement between Israel and the PLO, the Declaration of Principles on Interim Self-Government Arrangements, negotiated secretly in Oslo, completed 20 August 1993 and signed in Washington, D.C., on 13 September by Yasser Arafat, Yitzhak Rabin, and Bill Clinton. It provided for Palestinian self-government in the West Bank and Gaza as a step toward resolving the conflict.
