Warren Christopher

Warren Christopher (1925–2011) was an American statesman and attorney who served as the 63rd U.S. Secretary of State from 1993 to 1997 under President Bill Clinton. He had previously served as Deputy Attorney General (1967–1969) under Lyndon B. Johnson and as Deputy Secretary of State (1977–1981) under Jimmy Carter. In 1991 he chaired the Christopher Commission, which investigated the Los Angeles Police Department after the Rodney King incident.
