Roaring Twenties
The Roaring Twenties refers to the 1920s in Western society, a decade of economic prosperity and cultural dynamism after World War I. Jazz music flourished, the flapper redefined women's fashion, and Art Deco peaked, while automobiles, radio, and moving pictures brought modernity to a mass audience. In France the decade was known as the annees folles ('crazy years').
