Wuchang Uprising
October 10 – December 1, 1911 · Wuchang, Wuhan
Armed rebellion against the Qing dynasty in Wuchang (now part of Wuhan), Hubei, on 10 October 1911. Led by elements of the New Army influenced by the Tongmenghui, it began the 1911 Revolution that overthrew China's last imperial dynasty and led to the Republic of China. Taiwan commemorates 10 October as its National Day.
