H. H. Asquith

Herbert Henry Asquith was a British statesman and Liberal politician who was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1908 until his resignation in 1916. His government enacted major Liberal reforms, secured passage of the Parliament Act 1911 curtailing the power of the House of Lords, and led the United Kingdom into the First World War in 1914. He was the last Liberal prime minister to command a majority government.
