Jeremiah S. Black

Jeremiah S. Black was an American statesman and lawyer. He served as a justice on the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania from 1851 to 1857, including as Chief Justice from 1851 to 1854. He also served in President James Buchanan's Cabinet, first as Attorney General from 1857 to 1860 and then as Secretary of State from 1860 to 1861.
