Trail of Tears

May 28, 1830 – 1850 · New Echota, Cherokee Nation

Forced removal of the Cherokee, Muscogee, Seminole, Chickasaw and Choctaw nations from the southeastern United States to Indian Territory under the Indian Removal Act. Thousands died on the way.
