Cordell Hull

Cordell Hull (1871–1955) was an American politician and diplomat who served as U.S. secretary of state from 1933 to 1944 under President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the longest tenure in the office's history. A Democrat from Tennessee, he previously represented the state in both houses of Congress for 24 years.
