John Foster Dulles

John Foster Dulles (1888–1959) was an American lawyer, diplomat, and Republican politician. He served as U.S. Secretary of State under President Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953 until his resignation in 1959, and briefly as a U.S. Senator from New York in 1949. He was a leading figure of the early Cold War, associated with the policy of rollback of communist regimes.
