Julius Streicher

Julius Streicher

February 12, 1885 – October 16, 1946

Julius Streicher (1885–1946) was a German publicist, Nazi politician, and convicted war criminal. He served as Gauleiter of Franconia and as a member of the Reichstag, and he founded and published the virulently antisemitic newspaper Der Stürmer, which became a central element of the Nazi propaganda machine. After World War II he was convicted at the Nuremberg trials and executed in 1946.
