Nuremberg trials

The Nuremberg trials were international criminal trials held from 20 November 1945 to 1 October 1946 by France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States against leaders of defeated Nazi Germany. Twenty-two of the most important surviving Nazi political, military, and economic leaders and six German organizations were tried for war crimes, crimes against peace, and crimes against humanity. The trials established the precedent of individual criminal responsibility for such crimes.
