Hermann Göring

Hermann Goring was a German politician, aviator, military commander, and convicted war criminal. He was one of the most powerful figures in the Nazi Party, which controlled Germany from 1933 to 1945, and served as Supreme Commander of the Air Force (Luftwaffe). A World War I fighter pilot ace, he was among those wounded in Hitler's failed 1923 Beer Hall Putsch and later oversaw the creation of the Gestapo.
