Rodion Malinovsky

Rodion Yakovlevich Malinovsky (1898–1967) was a Soviet military commander and Marshal of the Soviet Union who served as Minister of Defence of the Soviet Union from 1957 to 1967. He volunteered for the Imperial Russian Army during the First World War and later joined the Red Army, rising through its ranks after service in the Russian Civil War. During the Second World War he became one of the most prominent Red Army commanders.
