Fred M. Vinson (1890-1953) was an American attorney and politician who served as the 13th chief justice of the United States from 1946 until his death in 1953. He served in all three branches of the U.S. government, including terms as a U.S. representative from Kentucky, a federal appellate judge, and U.S. Secretary of the Treasury from 1945 to 1946.
