Pacific War
December 7, 1941 – September 2, 1945
The World War II theater fought between Japan and the Allies across East and Southeast Asia, the Pacific, and Oceania, generally dated from Japan's December 1941 attacks on Pearl Harbor, the Philippines, Malaya, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The geographically largest theater of the war, it ended with Japan's surrender in August 1945 following the atomic bombings and the Soviet invasion of Manchuria.
